Taiwanese knock-offs of anime soundtracks.  Sometimes the only way you got anime osts back in the day.

Ah, I remember when I discovered a lot of my CDs where the Son May bootlegs. I was so disheartened. (They were EVERYWHERE back in the day! Every once in a while you still see them pop up on eBay, along with Ever Anime and similar bootleg “brands”.) Thankfully it’s MUCH more easier to get legit CDs now than it used to be…

Back in the day, I bought 2 SM CDs at A-kon without realizing what they were— an Ah My Goddess vocal collection and a Ranma 1/2 OP/ED collection. I probably should have been suspicious of that $16 price compared to the $30-40 for the legit CDs in the dealer’s room. After that, as a broke college student, I bought a mix of legit and Taiwan bootlegs depending on my cashflow at the time. I wouldn’t do that any more, but I admit that I still have almost all of my SM CDs. This is still my personal favorite—
